Good Evening Roosevelt Families,

It was a pleasure to end our week last week with a wonderful ASB Dance!  Students by and large reported that they had a great time.  Looking forward to our Spring Concert this Thursday evening at 6 pm!

Grades Posted By Friday Morning

The most recent grading period (Progress Report P4) ended this past Friday.  We will have grades posted in PowerSchool by this coming Friday morning, April 29th.

8th Grade Parent Meeting Notes

Here are the notes (English Spanish) from our parent meeting last week. Thank you Jen Spencer and Mr. Cortes  for taking the lead!  

North Park Creamery Fundraiser – Tuesday, April 26

Buy soft serve, help RooFriends! Head over to North Park Creamery at 3041 University Ave. on Tuesday, April 26th from 2-9pm!

• They will give 50% of sales for the day (make sure to tell them you’re with Roosevelt!) to the Friends of Roosevelt Middle School!
• All proceeds from the day will go to RooFriends programs that fund after-school activities, teacher grants, our school librarian, and music programs.

Level Up San Diego Summer Enrichment Q&A Sessions: April 25 & 28, 2022.

The San Diego Unified School District and the San Diego Foundation created Level Up San Diego for all SDUSD K-12 Students to enjoy summer activities beyond the classroom.

• Please join us Monday, April 25, 5:30 – 6:30 PM and/or Thursday, April 28, 10:30 – 11:30 AM to learn about the Level Up SD summer activities summer enrichment programs.
• Over 65 non-profit organizations are offering FREE opportunities for your child this summer. Level Up SD is open to all San Diego Unified students.

2023 East Coast Trip Zoom Meeting Thursday 4/28 @ 6:30pm

Current 7th grade students – You and your parents/guardians are invited to join the initial East Coast Trip (ECT) meeting via zoom on Thursday, 4/28 at 6:30pm.  7th Grade Students, please join the 2023 ECT Google Classroom: The join code is: txasqph.  During this meeting, you will get general information about next year’s ECT such as: dates, cost, some things we will be doing, etc….  Most importantly, if you come to this meeting, you will have the chance to register for the trip early and save your spot as this trip does fill up very quickly!  If you register late and it is full, you will be placed on the waitlist.  Questions? Vaccine Reminder

Now is the time to schedule vaccine appointments for those students who haven’t received them.  Our school nurse and health tech have sent emails home, please review them carefully!

New Attendance Protocol for Students Leaving Early

Please have your child drop off early dismissal notes in the morning, and then our office team will provide students with a pass to come to the office at the given time.  This will save the time it takes to get students from their class and the interruption that causes.  In your note, please provide:

• The reason your child needs to leave early
• The time they need to leave campus

Your child will then be at the office when you arrive (they of course need to remember!), and after showing your ID and signing them out, you will be on your way.  Thank you for your understanding as we try out this new system!  

• You will still be able to pick up your child if something comes up during the day

Absence Reporting

Please continue to report full day absences using this link. Our teachers are making sure all assignments are available in Google Classroom, please check classes with your child for updates.
